A bunker discharge unit for up to 2,000 t of copper ore per hour should be supplied to a Swedish mine. The dosing feeder must withstand the immense impact forces of the ore whenever the bunker is refilled. On the one hand, the massive structural restrictions pose a particular challenge, as the site is located underground and, on the other hand, the feed length of ten meters is extraordinary.
Here the IFE heavy-duty vibration feeder will come into use. This feeder is the optimal choice when very large capacities of bulk solids, large machine dimensions and highest availability under the most difficult conditions are required.
A drive for special cases
Typically, several unbalanced exciters can be built as a drive side by side on such a heavy duty machine. However, this procedure was not possible due to the insufficient width of the machine. The solution was provided by IFE Aufbereitungstechnik GmbH with the especially for such machines developed unbalanced exciter type UG150, which is characterized by its maximum working torque of up to 25,200 kgcm. This type enables the safe operation of the feeder with only one unbalanced exciter instead of two smaller models.
The size could therefore be maintained and the task was optimally solved!
